The coming of the World Cup of Soccer for the first time to the African continent, in 2010, may be seen as the flowering of the South African achievement: the destruction of institutionalized racism.Nelson Mandela’s vision was for a “rainbow nation” of equality, love and reconciliation. This documentary will be a report on whether, in the lives of our film’s characters, that promise came true. Five individuals – a former white racist policeman; a young soccer star from the townships; a former Zulu warlord who denies the blood on his hands; the sister of a murdered African National Congress leader; and a wealthy white lawyer who lost everything because of the disgrace of an interracial love affair – all went through hell during the Apartheid years, and have emerged, thanks to the power of faith, family and belief in their country, with personal victories.
